Yesterday, February 16, 2017, was the first annual Canada's Agriculture Day here in Canada. If you missed the events and celebration, it's well worth checking out the #CdnAgDay hashtag on
Twitter and
Facebook. Canadians in the agriculture community, from all over the country, voiced pride in their work. Seeing everyone come together was definitely an awesome part of the day.
Here at CCGA, we took part in Canada's Agriculture Day in a few ways. We were part of the national event in Ottawa, sharing food and conversation with young Canadians from every province. Speakers at this event covered topics such as the future of food, and the importance of youth, technology, and innovation to agriculture. With 1 in 8 Canadian jobs in the agriculture sector, we were thrilled to be a part of such a message.
In Winnipeg, we sponsored the lunch at CropConnect, and gave special remarks on the of the day. At our home office on busy Portage Avenue, we set up a big display sign for Winnipeg drivers to see as they passed our building.
We also did t-shirts, getting our cash advance and policy staff geared up for the day and using Canada's Agriculture Day to reinforce how they help farmers succeed through their work.
It all went toward showing off our agriculture pride, which we're happy to share with the producers we work with every day. Want to share how you celebrated Canada's Agriculture Day? Send us a tweet
