CCGA’s new vision statement
Helping Farmers Succeed is far more than a simple statement that visitors read on our website. It’s the inspiration behind what we do, how we work and what we value at CCGA and it guides future plans in our policy, advocacy and cash advance administration work. CCGA’s board of directors recently met to discuss the organization’s strategic direction including centering the organization on a new vision for the future.
“As a farmer-directed organization that delivers services to farmers, we wanted the vision to be memorable, while expressing how CCGA will positively impact the farmers we represent over the long-term,” says Brett Halstead, President of CCGA. “Helping Farmers Succeed focuses that direction and attention clearly on the interests of farmers.”
You might ask, how is the work done by CCGA and its staff impacted by the new vision?
“When it comes to administering the cash advance program, the vision inspires staff to deliver the program more effectively and efficiently,” says Rick White, CEO of CCGA. The program is a valuable tool in the success of many farms by helping farmers run their businesses more profitably. “But the vision also encourages staff to do more by continually finding ways to improve our service levels and streamline our processes,” says White.
Enhancing call centre services, simplifying application processes and building more accessible and easier to use digital services are just some of the ways CCGA’s cash advance team is inspired by
Helping Farmers Succeed.
The vision also brings a new level of clarity to CCGA’s work in national and international policy development and advocacy. “Whether we are working on rail transportation, international trade, sustainability or issues related to the agriculture policy framework or public trust, we are keenly aware that our end purpose is to best represent the interests of 43,000 canola growers across Canada,” says Halstead.
Bringing a credible and respected voice for Canada’s canola farmers to policy makers can impact the decisions they make and produce positive policy changes that are
Helping Farmers Succeed. “We continually invest in our policy research, analysis and advocacy work to ensure that canola farmers interests are appropriately considered,” says White.
Helping Farmers Succeed is a simple but powerful phrase that guides CCGA’s board and our staff today and into tomorrow.
