Winnipeg, MB — Manitoba Canola Growers Association (MCGA) and Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) are proud to sponsor guest speaker Michael Landsberg at the upcoming Grain World Conference in Winnipeg.
"With staggering statistics of upwards of 40% of farmers stating that they would not seek help because of the stigma associated with mental health, it is time the industry embraced the discussion and worked to improve these statistics," states Ron Krahn, farmer and MCGA director. "Michael's presentation offers a great opportunity to shift people's perceptions and create a conversation about mental health as a key component to overall well-being."
MCGA and the CCGA are committed to ensuring that their farm members and clients are aware of the mental health resources available to them so in addition to sponsoring Michael Landsberg they have also partnered with the Manitoba Farm, Rural and Northern Support Services to provide each Grain World delegate with free mental health resources as part of their registration package. Krahn will have the privilege of welcoming Michael Landsberg to the Grain World stage at 12:30 pm at the RBC Convention Centre. A seasoned on-stage pro, Michael Landsberg talks are diverting and smart, injected with large doses of humor. Not one to shy away from anything, he talks frankly about mental health—and specifically, his own struggle with depression—and urges others to do the same.
