Winnipeg, MB — For the first time, a national farmer association has achieved Aon's Best Small & Medium Employers standing in Canada. The Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) is proud to receive this award, which demonstrates that a small organization can nurture a workplace where employees feel personally connected to a common purpose.
"The foundation of success at CCGA is our fantastic team," says Rick White, Chief Executive Officer. "Obtaining Gold Level Best Employer ranking is a credit to everyone here who strives to make CCGA a great place to work, while staying committed to our values and vision of Helping Farmers Succeed."
The Aon Best Employers program measures and recognizes leading employers across Canada and worldwide. "It is particularly special because the results are generated from employee opinions about aspects of our organization including engagement, culture, leadership and brand," says White.
CCGA was started in 1984, by a group of farmers from across Canada who envisioned a national voice for canola farmers. Since that time, CCGA has grown to an organization of sixty-one employees who work in Winnipeg and Ottawa. The core business services of CCGA include administration of the Advance Payments Program and agriculture policy research and advocacy for farmers.
"Achieving Best Employer status is about so much more than having a positive and productive work environment and doing our jobs well," says Larysa Motruk, Manager of Human Resources. "Our employees are united by the impact that our work has on the farmers and stakeholders with whom we work every day – we want to make a difference!"
