Harpe Elected Chair of National Canola Association

Winnipeg, MB – The board of Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) has elected Andre Harpe, a canola farmer from Valhalla Centre, Alberta, to serve as Chair for a two-year term. Harpe has been a director of CCGA since 2019, and recently served as Chair of Grain Growers of Canada for four years.

In his opening address, Harpe recognized the leadership of retiring chair, Roger Chevraux. “I want to thank Roger for his commitment to Canadian canola farmers and for bringing our issues and concerns to many pivotal conversations during his tenure,” said Harpe.

Harpe welcomed incoming Manitoba director, Jay Derkach, to the board and thanked outgoing director Clayton Harder, also from Manitoba. “During his 10 years of service, Clayton has left a meaningful mark on CCGA and the many committees in which he participated,” said Harpe.
