Before you apply for a cash advance

Whether it’s your first application or you apply every year, CCGA is continuously streamlining the Advance Payments Program (APP) cash advance application process for our customers.

Your time is valuable, so here are a few tips to help your application process with CCGA go as smoothly as possible. Have the following items in hand before you begin:

1. Seeding intentions & land/soil type – Know the commodities that you want to include on your advance, the number of acres to be seeded for each, and your land/soil type:

  • In Saskatchewan & Alberta, is the land you’re planting on stubble, summerfallow, or irrigated?
  • In Manitoba, what are the specific soil designations?
  • In British Columbia, soil type is not required.

2. Crop Insurance/AgriStability documents – To apply for a pre-harvest cash advance, your advance must be secured with provincial crop insurance, AgriStability, or GARS. Advances on stored grain don’t have this requirement because the grain is the security for the advance.

3. Partner/shareholder info – If you are applying for the first time, or the first time under a new partnership or incorporation, we’ll ask for these details and contact information for your partners or shareholders. We'll also need updated information if you've changed structure since your last cash advance.

4. APP ID number – If you have previously taken a cash advance from CCGA, we’ll also ask for your APP ID number. If you don’t have it handy, you can find your APP ID by logging into your online account. If you don’t know it, our client support experts can assist you.

Now that you’re ready to apply, where do you start?
