Nuffield Canada is looking for people with big ideas about the future of agriculture who want to challenge themselves while finding innovative ways to advance Canadian ag.The Nuffield Scholarship is a prestigious rural leadership program available to anyone mid-career who is involved in agriculture. There are up to seven $15,000 CAD scholarships available - including one supported by Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) - which provide recipients with a unique opportunity to:Deliver long-term benefits to Canadian agriculture and farmers,Access the world's most extensive network in food and farming,Achieve personal development through travel and study."The success of Canadian agriculture relies on our ability to build leadership capacity and support innovation," says Kelly Green, CCGA's Director of Communications. "Supporting the professional growth of our future industry leaders is critical."Saskatchewan scientist Jodi Souter is one of those leaders. She was awarded a 2020 Nuffield Canada Scholarship to research plant breeding regulatory frameworks around the globe. Jodi is studying how other countries have structured these regulations and how their frameworks are providing opportunities for plant breeders. The more productive Canadian plant breeders are, the better the crop variety options will be for Canadian farmers."The Nuffield name is so respected, it creates a lot of opportunities.
