Winnipeg, MB — A foundation of personal engagement and teamwork, powered by a shared vision and a commitment to serving farmers, has resulted in Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) receiving two prominent employer honours in 2019, including Aon Best Employers and Manitoba's Top Employers awards.
"Receiving two best employer honours this year is an acknowledgement of our ongoing journey to create an environment where teams are inspired to make a difference for our customers, for each other, and for our larger community," says Rick White, Chief Executive Officer at CCGA. "Our Employee Engagement Committee has been a driver for many of the changes we've implemented that affect our people."
The Aon Best Employers program measures and recognizes leading employers across Canada and worldwide. "The Aon Best Employer award is particularly special because the results are generated from employee opinions about aspects of our organization including engagement, culture, leadership and brand," says White.
Manitoba's Top Employers program assesses an organization's commitment to the work environment, employee benefits, organizational communication, employee development, community engagement and more. "We're so very pleased to be recognized as one of Manitoba's most progressive and forward-thinking employers," says Larysa Motruk, Director of Human Resources at CCGA. "Together we have built a culture that encourages employees to actively participate in making CCGA a better place for staff and customers."
"In this, our 35th year of operations, we are thrilled to show the diversity of opportunity for people working in agriculture and to celebrate the positive work environment within our organization and our sector," says Motruk. "Many of our employees may not have imagined a career in agriculture, but the culture and work environment we continue to foster encourages many of our employees to stay."
2019 marks the second time that CCGA was recognized as an Aon Best Employer. The organization was awarded Aon's Best Small & Medium Employer in Canada for 2018. Aon Best Employers Program became Kincentric Best Employer Program in 2019.
Manitoba's Top Employers is an annual competition organized by Canada's Top 100 Employers. More information about each of the recipients can be found in this supplement.
CCGA represents canola farmers on national and international issues, policies and programs that impact farm profitability and is an official administrator of the Government of Canada's Advance Payments Program.
