Manager/Senior Manager, Government & Industry Relations

CCGA’s passionate team of advocacy professionals helps bring the
perspectives of Canada’s 40,000 canola farmers to national policy
conversations impacting their livelihood.
What you'll be doing:
You’ll be part of a collaborative team focused on advancing the priorities of canola farmers through policy and advocacy work. This temporary Manager/Senior Manager role (level based on experience) reports to the Vice-President of Government & Industry Relations and will be:
- Supporting the VP with strategic advice and execution of advocacy efforts

Building and maintaining strong relationships with federal policymakers and industry partners

Representing us in government forums, consultations, and industry coalitions

Providing policy insight on legislative developments affecting canola farmers

Leading key advocacy files and coordinating events like Lobby Day

Contributing to public forums, media engagement, and presentations

Helping prepare government relations materials and briefing documents

Maintaining a visible presence in Ottawa’s agriculture and policy networks
Your experience:

A post-secondary degree in agriculture, economics, law, commerce, or political science; a graduate degree (MBA, Master’s) is an asset.

At least six (6) years of progressive experience in government relations, policy development, or corporate affairs.

Knowledge of the Canadian agriculture industry and related federal policy issues.

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, including experience crafting messaging for various audiences.

Excellent judgement, strategic policy analysis skills, and comfort engaging with senior decision-makers.

Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.

Ability to act as an external spokesperson and policy lead.

Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, with outstanding policy, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
